Rain water
As natural resource, water is one of the main issues concerning sustainability. Reclamation and reuse of rain water is a good solution to keep and preserve the water resource. PROFLUID and its members are indeed attending all the regulatory and normative works about reclamation of rain water.
Regulation
The French Government has authorized the reclamation of rain water for specific uses in the Order from the 21st of August 2008 :
- Outdoor use (like garden watering, car washing, …)
- Toilet flushing
- Ground washing
- Laundry
- Industrial processes, except those regarding to drinking water.
However, use for drinking and food production, dishes washing and personal hygiene is formally prohibited.
Standardization
A working group has been created at NF level to write a standard defining the design, the set-up and the maintenance of a rain water reclamation system : pr NF P 16-005 “Rain water reclamation system for uses indoor and outdoor”.
Communication
A booklet – ordered by the French Ministry for Environment - has been created to define the “Rules for the good set-up of a rain water reclamation system” intended for installer. PROFLUID has deeply participated to the design of this document and will make a strong communication about it.

Tax credit
A tax credit has been attributed to rain water reclamation system up to 2012, including in particular :
- Submersible or surface pump, or booster (P < 1kW)
- Water meter
- Fitting valve
